Free Press Houston Summer Fest
Free Press Summer Fest is Houston’s first and only multiple-day outdoor festival of its caliber. After the unprecedented success of Houston’s first outdoor music festival, Free Press Houston and Pegstar.net went bigger and better with Free Press Summer Fest 2010. Last summer’s event showcased everything from local indie rockers to national touring bands like of Montreal and Broken Social Scene. This music and arts festival was held June 5th and 6th at Buffalo Bayou’s Eleanor Tinsley Park and featured more than 70+ national and local musical performers plus an impressive array of visual art instillations from a number of talented local artists. Confirmed to headline this year was the Grammy Award winning band The Flaming Lips - and boy did they put on a great show.
The festival is expanding its horizons to include a more diverse array of both national and regional acts. And though the overall lineup is incorporating a wider geographic range – Houston’s finest musicians will continue to play a vital role in creating and maintaining the unique spirit of the Summer Fest.
Press from all over Texas and beyond came to enjoy Houston’s humble little music festival. Check out what they had to say:
